Travelers from all over the world come to the Pennsylvania Dutch country to see the Amish people and their farms, shop at the outlet stores, and dine at restaurants serving family-style Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine. For those visitors that come a great distance and want to stay at an upscale resort/hotel, the 352-room Willow Valley Resort and Conference Center, located
south of downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania is the place to go.
The Resort offers the following amenities:
Two indoor and one outdoor swimming pool
A nine-hole golf course
Tennis courts and children's play land
A game room, sauna, whirlpools, and a newly expanded fitness center
A working Amish farm with a walking path view
Free bus tour of Lancaster County
Two gift shops and an on-site bakery
Two restaurants with daily all-you-can-eat award-winning smorgasbords and an award winning Sunday Brunch
An onsite wedding & prayer chapel
The resort is separated into two buildings. The original building is the Center Building that houses meeting rooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, a bakery, and the Family Restaurant. A skyway connects to the five-level Atrium Building that contains six large meeting rooms, newly renovated guest rooms, an indoor swimming pool, the fitness center, and the Palm Court Restaurant that is a venue for Sunday brunch, weddings, and other large functions. The lobby level houses the Terrace Restaurant that also converts into separate meeting rooms with a central breakout room.
We stayed overnight in a Jacuzzi suite in the Atrium Building. Our clean, nicely decorated room was on the third floor, a nonsmoking floor of the five level building. Our room overlooked the atrium restaurant and was furnished with the largest king-sized bed we've ever slept in. Other furnishings were a night table, a full-sized sleep sofa, a floor lamp, an armoire containing a large-screen cable television and three drawers, a writing desk and lamp, a small refrigerator, and a coffee maker. The private bath contained a wash basin, a separate stall shower, and a Jacuzzi tub. An amenity basket on the basin held mouthwash, body lotion, deodorant soaps, and a shower cap.
