Left Bank. Just the words conjure images of the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Luxembourg Gardens. Winding little streets around the Sorbonne, artists' galleries on the Rue Jacob, intellectual conversation at Café Deux Magots, book and print sellers along the Seine.
It's our favorite place to stay in Paris. People live and work there, and it's alive all day and night.
Each district is distinct and unique, although the ambiance of The Latin Quarter merges with the artists of St. Germain des Prés, which meanders into the provenance of Montparnasse and the Eiffel Tower. Getting around the Left Bank is a snap, and with all the sights, sounds and delicious smells, walking is still the preferred mode of transportation.
