Chambers Small dogs, up to 25 pounds, are welcomed as long as the guest signs a damage waiver in this hotel billed as the "uptown hotel with the downtown attitude." This chic Fifth Avenue boutique stresses the art scene of SoHo, TriBeCa and the Village. Each of the 77 rooms and suites is an emerging artists' gallery; original piantings and prints are featured throughout the hotel. Walnut floors, platform beds, Turkish rugs and cashmere throws are just some of the decor aspects, while the bathrooms include deep soaking tubs and rain showerheads. The Lowell The teeny-tiny discriminating canine (and its equally discriminating human) will find this 67-room hotel better than home when in New York. Dogs up to 15 pounds are welcome and treated like royalty. Located on a quiet tree-lined street just steps from Madison Avenue, the 1928 building was an apartment house until it was converted to a hotel in the 1980s. There are no more than six guestrooms or suites on each of its 17 floors, assuring quiet and privacy. Rich fabrics and antiques, marble baths, VCRs and kitchens are found in each guestrooms; many suites have fireplaces and/or terraces. The Lowell is the apex of quiet, refined elegance. The Metroplitan We love this hotel on Lexington Avenue in the heart of Manhattan, and have taken our doggie babies to visit. They were treated like valued guests, with welcome treats (hey, WE didn't get any!) and a dog bowl, a placemat and even a cardboard doggie-poop-scoop. The hotel is kid-friendly too, the warm staff will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms aren't particularly large but they are comfortable, with nice amenities and "activity packs" for kids. Location Map Have you stayed in this hotel? Please review it for us.
