WHAT'S INCLUDED?
We always moan when we pay the bill up front for our all-inclusive vacations, but after a few
days we get over it, go on, and have a great vacation without having to think about whether
to spend another $10.00 for that next pina colada. You will get your money's worth at Grand
Lido Braco. The food is excellent, the drinks are top-shelf, and the parties stop only when you
can no longer go on.
One of our favorite places to eat is Munahana, the Japanese restaurant. If you choose to eat
at the sushi bar, prepare to be dazzled by a first rate chef who will amaze you with his expertise
and sumptuously fresh fish. The teppanyaki tables promise a fun and delicious evening with a
set menu including several courses along with your choice of wines, including saki. NOTE:
You must have a reservation to eat here. We suggest making your reservation immediately
upon arrival at the resort as this is a popular dining option and seating is limited. Dress is
resort elegant. No shorts. No sandals for men.
Another restaurant not to be missed is
Piacère, serving fine French cuisine, also by reservation.
Arrive hungry. You won't want to miss a course here. The food is
exceptional and the wine list is more extensive than in the other restaurants. Be sure to save
room for dessert (we love the crème brulée.) Men must wear a jacket, but the last
couple of times we were there the air conditioning was a bit sluggish and several guests had
hung their jackets over their chairs. This is a dressy environment, so pack accordingly.
For a traditional Jamaican experience, Nanny's Jerk Pit serves lunch until late afternoon and
is a very popular spot with guests. The menu varies (you can check with Nanny in the morning,)
but the place always smells great. Nanny's offers very casual outdoor dining.
From mid-afternoon to late evening, LaPasta is a great place for pizza and other Italian offerings,
as well as being a perfect spot for people-watching. Set on the corner across from the fountain in the
middle of the village square, it's a good place for a rest and refreshment from the bakery next
door, too.
Victoria Market serves breakfast and lunch buffets daily. In the evening it serves dinner in open-air Caribbean candle light on most evenings; there are a couple of nights each week that have an open beach party or street party, and on those nights, Victoria Market is closed.
Grand Lido Braco offers "all you can eat, all the time." Bars are located all around the property as well, and drinks
are all included. A touch of the phone brings champagne to your room, any time of day or night.
Each guest is entitled to a complimentary manicure and pedicure. We love to book these together,
usually right after lunch, when we're full and lazy, feeling like being pampered. If you want to
carry the pampered feeling a bit further, just steps from the town square is a full service spa.
NOTE: Spa services are NOT included in the all-inclusive price. You will receive a menu of
prices upon check-in should you wish to partake. We suggest a couples massage for a romantic
afternoon. You may choose from any of the different types of massages offered to be done in
tandem. Then head for the room and call for champagne....
Activities are always available, but not forced upon you. If you're looking for a pool volleyball
game, or want to try your hand at trivia or body painting, the invitation is open. Prizes of rum
and t-shirts go to winners of pool bingo and other games. Tables set under the stars offer
blackjack gambling on casino night (the chips are free.) And nearly every evening there is
live entertainment --which ranges from good to truly excellent-- along with dancing
and more partying in the disco until the wee hours.
