At a spacious 197-square feet, the standard outside staterooms on Holland America's M.S. Volendam are lovely, offer a comfortable separate seating area with sofa, loads of storage space, and are beautifully appointed with peach and gold-colored soft goods. The bathrooms in Holland America's standard outside cabins are arguably the best at sea, each with a deep bathtub and and well-lit vanity sink.

For some reason, and I find this baffling on every ship configured this way, Holland America's designers have put the beds beneath the window and the sofa on the other side of the room.
