GOLF EVERY DAY ON SILVERSEA CRUISES
What on earth could make the world's best luxury cruise line, the line voted "The World's Best Small Ship Cruise Line" for six consecutive years by readers of Condé Nast Traveler Magazine, even better? Golf. Of course. Every single day of the year.
Although the cruise line offers all-inclusive golf packages in its Silver Links Golf Cruise Series, eight voyages lasting from seven to 16 days, Silversea Cruises has instituted a "365 Day Golf Program" featuring golf EVERY DAY on Silver Whisper and Silver Shadow.
Including both complimentary and extra-fee programs, Silver Links 365 provides a PGA-classed golf pro on every Silver Shadow/Silver Whisper sailing during 2002. On days at sea, guests can take advantage of private instruction in the 10' x 22' custom-built golf cages on each ship, watch scheduled demonstrations, engage in putting contests, and attend clinics designed for all level of golf ability.
The program also offers complimentary shuttle service to some of the world's best and most challenging courses, carts and/or caddies. Callaway® clubs are available to rent or purchase for guests who don't wish to bring their own from home.
A digital V1 video-teaching program is also offered, utilizing the latest technology employed by Tiger Woods and his coach Butch Harmon. Priced at $55 USD for half an hour or $95 USD for a full hour, the golfer can compare his or her technique to some of golf's best, and the ship's pro will analyze and critique the golfer's swing and stance. The VHS video of the session with commentary by the pro is included in the package.
Silversea is the world's most highly lauded small-ship luxury line, with four ships and globe-spanning itineraries. Silver Cloud and Silver Wind accommodate 296 guests each, while Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper accommodate 382 guests each. All accommodations are suites; 75% of the suites have verandas, all feature fine luxury appointments, walk-in closets and marble full baths. Every Silversea cruise is all-inclusive; not only are the meals and entertainment part of the package, but liquor and wine are included as well, with the exception of some fine vintage wines and champagne. So are the air arrangements, pre- and post-cruise hotel stays (when part of the package), and tips.
Special programs on Silversea Cruises are not limited to golf alone. Pairing with Relais et Chateaux, several on-board culinary programs are offered each year, as are Musical Arts programs and the cultural Silversea Experience.
And then, of course, there is just the pleasure of ultra-luxury cruising, with ships small enough to be intimate and just big enough to be perfect.
